The Town Hall of Fresno de Torote has begun the installation of air conditioning in the Infant and Primary buildings of CEIPSO Serracines, with a grant of €99,962.88 from the Community of Madrid.
The Town Hall of Fresno de Torote has initiated works to climatise the buildings of Early Childhood Education and Primary Education at CEIPSO Serracines. The project, fully funded by the Community of Madrid with a grant of €99,962.88, will adapt classrooms and workspaces to cope with high summer temperatures and reinforce existing heating in winter.
The intervention responds to the East-West orientation of the buildings, which increases thermal load during the day, and to the heat episodes recorded in recent years. In the Primary building, two outdoor units of multisplit heat pump air conditioning will be installed, with a variable refrigerant flow system, serving the three classrooms on the ground floor, the three offices, the canteen, and the eight classrooms on the first floor.
In the Infant building, four units of 1×1 air-air heat pump air conditioning will be installed, which will condition the classrooms and main areas of the building.
The mayor of Fresno de Torote, Ana Isabel Arias, has described the measure as “great news that students and teachers will have this air conditioning system installed in the coming weeks.” The mayor emphasised the work of the councillors and municipal employees to secure these grants, which require “submitting a lot of documentation,” and thanked the Community of Madrid for its initiative “to help the smaller towns of Madrid.”
With this action, the council continues its commitment to improving study and well-being conditions in the educational centres of the municipality, ensuring more comfortable environments for students, teachers, and staff. The works will take place in the coming weeks, before the start of the school year.
