The Town Hall of Fresno de Torote has carried out maintenance work over the summer on the Infant and Primary buildings of CEIPSO, alongside the finalisation of air conditioning in both properties. The mayor, Ana Isabel Arias, visited the centre and the Fresno Joven building, where 1st year of ESO is taught.
Students from Fresno de Torote have started the 2026-2027 school year with improvements in the Infant and Primary buildings of CEIPSO. The Town Hall has carried out the work during the non-school period, although some minor works will be completed in the coming days.
Among the executed works are the replacement of furniture, the substitution of six blackboards, the upgrading of emergency doors in Primary and the pavilion, the cleaning and filling of the Infant sandpit, and the repair and replacement of tiles in Primary corridors and landings.
Urinals, sinks, and cisterns in both buildings have also been repaired, blinds in classrooms and offices have been replaced, the Primary playground has been cleaned daily, the sewage system has been upgraded, and various walls have been refurbished.
Maintaining CEIPSO in the best conditions is a priority for this government team. We want our children, their families, and the entire educational community to have safe, modern, and well-maintained facilities. Every summer we take advantage of the non-school period to continue improving educational centres because investing in education is investing in the present and future of Fresno de Torote,” said the mayor, Ana Isabel Arias.
The mayor has seen the results of the works first-hand during her visit to the centre. These improvements are complemented by the air conditioning that is being finalised in both buildings to combat high temperatures in the hottest months and will also enhance the current heating system in winter.
Arias also visited the new Fresno Joven building, where 1st year of ESO is taught, preventing students from having to leave the municipality after finishing 6th grade. The space, adapted by the Town Hall, features a multi-sport court in the playground.
This summer's works continue from last year's, which included washing exterior walls, restoring the Infant sandpit, installing shade sails, painting the climbing wall, and repairing blinds.
