The Government Council of the Community of Madrid has approved the contracting of works for the new Special Education Centre in Móstoles, with an investment of over 10.5 million euros.
The new Special Education Centre (CPEE) in Móstoles, with a capacity for more than 100 students, will take a step forward following the approval this Wednesday of the contracting of the works by the Government Council of the Community of Madrid. The centre will be located on a plot of 8,500 square metres on Iker Casillas Avenue.
The building will feature three classrooms for Early Childhood Education, ten for Basic Education, and six for training workshops. It will also have two multipurpose classrooms, a multisensory room, two physiotherapy spaces, another for psychomotricity, adapted toilets, a gym, a nurse's office, a library, and a dining room.
With this infrastructure, Móstoles will exceed 300 places to cater to children with special educational needs. Currently, the CPEE Miguel de Unamuno serves 182 students across three educational stages, while the schools Alonso Cano and Antusana add another 23 minors.
This announcement represents a decisive step towards making a very necessary project for Móstoles a reality, especially for families of children with special educational needs. This new centre will allow us to exceed 300 places for care in our city and provide adapted, individualised, and quality education in modern and fully equipped facilities,” declared the mayor of Móstoles, Manuel Bautista.
The mayor thanked the Community of Madrid for “its commitment to Móstoles” to move towards “a more inclusive city with better educational resources.” With the construction of this centre, Móstoles will have 38 public education schools.
