The Cerro del Telégrafo sports centre will host the great local sports festival on Saturday, September 19, with free participation and a t-shirt gift for those who complete eight activities.

The Cerro del Telégrafo municipal sports centre in Rivas-Vaciamadrid will host the new edition of Sports Day on Saturday, September 19, from 17:30 to 20:30, a day organised by the Department of Sports alongside local sports entities that brings together thousands of residents with more than 40 disciplines.

Participation is free and open to all ages. Those who prove they have completed at least eight sports activities on their participation card will receive a commemorative t-shirt while supplies last. Cards can be obtained at the entrance of the facility or in the play areas, and t-shirts will be handed out at 20:20 in the athletics stadium.

Among the activities are swimming, water polo, triathlon, chess, roller hockey, artistic and inline skating, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, judo, rhythmic gymnastics, taekwondo, kuk sool won, jiu jitsu, futsal, tennis, baseball, softball, football, cycling, athletics, rugby, American football, archery, padel, pickleball, and adapted sports. There will also be family leisure activities, fitness, health control, and refreshment points.

Popular races by categories

The popular races will start at 18:00 with the start and finish at the athletics stadium. The technical direction is handled by SportMadness, in collaboration with the city's athletics clubs. There are events from pre-sport (born in 2022, 200 meters) to cadet and youth (born between 2008 and 2012, 2,000 meters for boys and 1,600 for girls).

Registration is free and can be done through the Rock the Sport website starting from September 10. The bib can be collected from 17:30 until 30 minutes before each race. Minors participating will receive medals, and their race counts towards a stamp for the commemorative t-shirt.

The benjamin, alevin, infant, cadet, and youth categories serve as qualifying trials for the Community of Madrid School Championship. Additionally, the three schools with the highest proportional participation will receive sports equipment worth 425 euros plus VAT.

At 20:45, the family race Rivas Runs with Family will take place, with no bib or prior registration required. The route starts from the athletics stadium and ends in the sports centre car park, where minors who complete the event wearing the Sports Day t-shirt will receive a gift.

Diving baptism and charity padel tournament

In the morning, from 11:00 to 14:00, the heated pool will host a diving baptism with 24 spots per hour, with free registration on the municipal website inscripciones.rivasciudad.es.

A charity padel tournament will also be held from 10:00 to 14:00 in collaboration with Run Faster, with two categories: intermediate and advanced levels. Registration consists of a food donation for the Rivas Food Recovery Network. There is a limit of 12 pairs per category, and registrations are done in pairs on the same municipal website. Matches last 20 minutes, and the three best pairs in each category will receive trophies.
