Work will begin in mid-October with an investment of €2.5 million from the PIR 2022-2026 and an execution period of 11 months. The new educational centre will replace the current building, which will be demolished.
The construction of the new Casita de Niños in Perales de Tajuña will start in mid-October. The announcement was made this Thursday during a meeting between the mayor and the councillors of the Government Team with the project management, the contracting company, and regional technicians.
The project has an investment of €2.5 million funded by the Regional Investment Programme of the Community of Madrid 2022-2026 and an execution period of 11 months. The Plenary approved it unanimously.
The work includes the demolition of the existing building and the construction of a new single-storey building designed to meet the needs of the children and educational staff.
The centre will be organised into several classrooms differentiated by age: from 0 to 1 year, from 1 to 2, and from 2 to 3 years, all with integrated auxiliary spaces. Additionally, it will have a multipurpose classroom for psychomotor activities that can connect with other classrooms through mobile partitions.
The facilities will include a dining room with a kitchen, administrative areas, staff changing rooms, storage rooms, and adapted sanitary services, arranged around a lobby that will connect the different functional blocks.
Outside, an L-shaped playground will be created with areas for outdoor educational use. Some of these areas will be covered to allow use on both sunny and rainy days.
Finally, we have a date to start one of the most anticipated works in recent years. It will involve complications and a reorganisation affecting the school by relocating the children from the Casita there — which has already been discussed with the Ministry of Education and the management of the CEIPSO to minimise the impact on the entire educational community — but the result will be worth it,” explained the mayor, Yolanda Cuenca.
Cuenca added that “our little ones deserve a centre with the best conditions, and that is what they will have when they start the new building next school year.”
During the construction, the children from the Casita will be moved to the school, a reorganisation that, according to the City Council, has been coordinated with the Ministry of Education and the management of the CEIPSO to minimise the impact on the educational community.
