The Town Hall of Pezuela de las Torres has begun works to renew the climate control system at the school, with new windows and an air source heat pump system.
The school in Pezuela de las Torres has started to upgrade its climate control system, an initiative aimed at improving classroom comfort and reducing the building's energy consumption.
The works include the replacement of windows to enhance insulation and the installation of an air source heat pump, which will become the main heating system, replacing the diesel boiler.
The air source heat pump harnesses energy from the outside air to generate heat, a method that is more efficient and sustainable than fossil fuels. However, the centre will retain the conventional boiler as a backup for extremely cold days when temperatures are particularly low.
The project is funded through the Regional Investment Plan of the Community of Madrid, which provides the necessary funds for this improvement in one of the most used municipal buildings by families in the municipality.
With these works, the council hopes that students and teachers will enjoy warmer classrooms in winter and cooler ones in summer, while also reducing energy costs and the centre's pollutant emissions.
The works are already underway and will take place over the coming weeks, with the aim of having the new system operational as soon as possible for the next school year.
