The Patron Saint Festivities in honour of Our Lady of the Encina will be held from September 4 to 9 in Hoyo de Manzanares, featuring a double proclamation for the anniversaries of the Peña el Huevo and the Association of Belenistas.

The municipality of Hoyo de Manzanares is finalising preparations to bid farewell to summer with its traditional Patron Saint Festivities 2026, which will take place from September 4 to 9 in honour of Our Lady of the Encina. The programme, organised by the Town Hall through the council and the festivities committee, includes activities for all ages, from the youngest to the oldest.

The programme will kick off with pre-festivities, which will take place from August 28 to September 3. During these days, residents will be able to enjoy concerts by bands such as The Refrescos, La Banda del Capitán Inhumano, and Los Portfolios, in addition to the election and proclamation of queens, a gathering of vespa riders, the transhumance of oxen, games among clubs and associations with the Trivial de Hoyo in the Plaza de Toros, the countryside party, the Pool Party, and a tribute lunch for the elderly.

Officially, the festivities will begin on September 4 with the proclamation, which this year will feature a double highlight: the Peña el Huevo and the Association of Belenistas of Hoyo de Manzanares will commemorate their 30th and 25th anniversaries, respectively. This will be the first time the stage hosts a double proclamation, a moment expected to be particularly emotional for both entities.

On September 6, it will be the turn of Caldereta Day, declared a Regional Tourist Interest Festival. The day will include parades, the running of young bulls, greased pole contests, a bullfighting festival, and, as a grand finale, a large dinner, dance, and the traditional Wine Shower, organised by the Association La Caldereta.

On September 8, the day of the patron saint, a solemn mass and procession will be held in honour of the Virgin of the Encina, accompanied by the traditional floral offering. The festivities will conclude on Wednesday, September 9 with the XII Hoyo Chef Competition, mass at the Hermitage of the Rosary, a concert by the Military Music Band, and a grand pyromusical show with fireworks and 140 drones at the Municipal Sports Centre Las Eras.

The Town Hall thanks the collaboration of the clubs, associations, sports clubs, the Parish, and the Brotherhood, as well as the work of municipal employees, the Security Forces, and Civil Protection. The complete programme is available in digital format for residents to consult schedules and activities.
