The Town Hall announces the 7th edition of the Awards for Academic Excellence with €25,000. Students with an average grade of 9 or higher can apply.
The Town Hall of San Lorenzo de El Escorial has announced the seventh edition of the Awards for Academic Excellence for the 2025-2026 academic year, with a total funding of €25,000. The initiative aims to recognise the academic efforts of students in the municipality and assist families with the costs of the new school year.
Students registered in San Lorenzo de El Escorial who have completed Primary Education, ESO, Baccalaureate, Intermediate Vocational Training, or Secondary Education for Adults at a centre in the municipality or any locality in the Community of Madrid are eligible to apply. The main requirement is to have achieved an average grade of 9 or higher in the last completed course.
Additionally, the category for best University Admission Scores is maintained, which requires a score of 13 points or higher.
The application period will be open from 1 to 30 September 2026. Applications can preferably be processed through the municipal Electronic Headquarters or in person at the Education Area, located at Francisco Muñoz Street, 2, upper floor.
Both the student and the applicant, if underage, must be registered in the municipality continuously before 1 October 2025 and remain registered when submitting the application.
Students who have studied at educational centres in San Lorenzo de El Escorial do not need to provide a certificate of grades: by applying, they authorise the Town Hall to obtain it directly from the centre. Those who have studied in another municipality in the Community of Madrid must present an original certificate of grades, and for University Admission Scores, the supporting documentation.
The amounts vary by educational level. The first prize is €200 for 6th grade of Primary, €370.37 for 4th grade of ESO, and €493.83 for 2nd grade of Baccalaureate and 2nd grade of Intermediate Vocational Training. The best University Admission Scores are also awarded €370.37, and there are recognitions for students in Secondary Education for Adults.
Furthermore, financial aid is available for students with an average grade of 9 or higher in 1st to 5th grade of Primary, 1st to 3rd grade of ESO, 1st grade of Baccalaureate, 1st grade of Intermediate Vocational Training, and Level I of Education for Adults, with a certificate of achievement in all cases.
The awards for 2nd grade of Baccalaureate and University Admission Score are compatible with each other, as well as with aid from other administrations or private entities.
