The San Martín de la Vega City Council signs agreements with the six associations of mothers and fathers from the educational centres in the municipality. Each AMPA will receive 1,000 euros, compared to 400 last year.
The San Martín de la Vega City Council and the six AMPAs from the educational centres in the municipality signed collaboration agreements last Thursday, August 27 for this fiscal year, which will allocate 6,000 euros to all the associations. The contribution per AMPA increases from 400 to 1,000 euros, a 150% increase compared to 2025.
The Education Councillor, Javier Pizarro, explained that these agreements were initiated last year and they committed to maintaining them. "This year we not only maintain them, but we significantly increase their amount, because we know the work our AMPAs do and we want to continue supporting them," he stated.
The aid can be used for the purchase of school supplies and books, to finance cultural and recreational activities, and for improvement projects at the educational centres, according to the City Council. The agreements include the advance payment of 100% of the grant, so that the associations have the resources before carrying out the actions.
The mayor, Rafael Martínez, pointed out that "when the City Council, educational centres, and families work in the same direction, our students are the winners." Martínez added that there is "very good harmony with the AMPAs" and that they share the goal of "continuing to improve our schools."
With this measure, the council fulfills the commitment made last year to progressively increase the amounts: from nearly 2,500 euros allocated in 2025 to 6,000 euros in 2026. The six AMPAs of San Martín de la Vega can now access the funds for the planned actions in their centres.
