The Hoyo de Manzanares Town Hall opens registration for the 60 spots in the School Route, a free service for students of CEIP Virgen de la Encina starting on September 9.

The Hoyo de Manzanares Town Hall has opened the registration period for 60 spots in the School Route, a free service that allows preschool and primary students from CEIP Virgen de la Encina to walk to school accompanied by monitors and peers.

The two routes of the program will begin on September 9, 2026, and will run until June 18, 2027, following the school calendar. The initiative aims to support family reconciliation and reduce traffic at the access points to the educational centre.

The Department of Education has organised two routes with several stops so that families can choose the one closest to their home. Route 1 departs at 8:20 from Glorieta Joaquín Ruiz Jiménez and goes up Calle Sobrante, Avenida de la Cabilda, and Paseo Francisco Ayala, stopping at Urbanización Los Manantiales at 8:35.

Route 2 also starts at 8:20 from Avenida de Madrid at the height of Callejón de Domingo Martínez, continues along Calle Hurtada, and makes stops in front of the Día supermarket parking lot at 8:30 and at Calle Hurtada 22 at 8:35.

To request a spot, interested parties must be enrolled at CEIP Virgen de la Encina in preschool or primary education. It is necessary to fill out a registration form for each child and attach the ID card of the parent making the application.

Registrations can be submitted online by sending the documentation to joaquin.lopez@hoyodemanzanares.es, or in person at the Town Hall Registration Office, located at Calle San Sebastián 4, Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 14:00.

Once registered, families will join a WhatsApp broadcast group using the number provided on the form. This will be the communication channel between the department, the monitors, and the parents regarding all matters related to the operation of the routes.

For more information, the Town Hall offers the phone number 663 97 88 29 and the email joaquin.lopez@hoyodemanzanares.es.
