The Villanueva de la Cañada Town Hall has invested around €40,000 in the maintenance of public schools, with works concluding before the start of the school year.
The Town Hall of Villanueva de la Cañada is putting the finishing touches on maintenance works carried out over the summer in the municipality's public schools. The intervention, with a budget of around €40,000, aims to ensure that the facilities are ready for the return to classes.
At CEIPSO María Moliner, the works have included painting nine classrooms and renewing the playground markings. New brushwood has also been installed, and the sand in the play area has been replenished, in addition to upgrading elements of the outdoor equipment, such as the bike racks. The works have been completed with various plumbing tasks at the educational centre.
Meanwhile, at CEIP Santiago Apóstol, six classrooms in the blue pavilion and the furniture in the outdoor play area have been painted. Additionally, the skirting boards in the classrooms have been replaced.
As for CEIPSO Padre Garralda, the works have focused on the Infant playground where the columns in the shaded area have been painted and the rubber flooring in the play area has been repaired. Plumbing work has also been carried out in the centre's bathrooms.
These interventions are part of the work that the Town Hall carries out for the maintenance and conservation of public educational centres, taking advantage of the school holidays to avoid interfering with the normal development of teaching activities.
With these improvements, students from the three public centres in the municipality will return to class in September with upgraded facilities in optimal condition.
