The Local Government Board approves two agreements with the Community of Madrid to establish the allocation conditions for two developments of 71 and 178 public protected rental homes in Móstoles Sur. 75% will be reserved for residents with at least ten years in the city.
The Local Government Board of Móstoles approved on Tuesday two agreements with the Community of Madrid, through the Ministry of Housing, Transport and Infrastructure and the Social Housing Agency, to establish the allocation conditions for 249 public protected homes intended for rental in Móstoles Sur.
The agreements cover two developments from the Social Housing Agency. The first consists of 71 public protected homes for rent, as well as commercial premises, storage rooms, and parking, on the FR-81 plot, between Casiopea and Hydra streets. The second adds 178 public protected homes for rental, commercial premises, and parking on the FR-63 plot, also in Móstoles Sur.
The mayor of Móstoles, Manuel Bautista, stated that these developments allow for an expansion of the protected housing offer in the city.
Thanks to the commitment to Móstoles from the Community of Madrid, these developments represent an important step to increase the offer of housing with some type of protection in our city, with 249 new rental homes. We continue to work to ensure that the people of Móstoles can continue living in their city and have more opportunities to access housing
The initiative is financed through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, with funds from the European Union-NextGenerationEU.
75% of the homes will be reserved for Móstoles residents who can prove a minimum of ten years of registration in the city. Individuals or households with annual incomes between 1.5 and 5 times the IPREM will be eligible. The homes must be kept for rent for at least 20 years.
These two developments add to other ongoing municipal initiatives, such as the Partial Plan SUS R1 and the Partial Plan SUS R4, which will activate more than two million square meters of developable land. Together with the Partial Plan SUNC-4, they will allow for the construction of more than 13,000 homes in the city, with 60% having some type of protection.
In parallel, the City Council has launched this year the Special Plan for changing the use of premises to housing, which will allow for the incorporation of up to 3,000 new homes in areas of the municipality by utilising closed and inactive spaces.
