The Medieval Market of Bustarviejo returns from August 28 to 30 with parades, magic, music, and fire. The cucaña on Saturday will award a ham as a prize.
The streets of Bustarviejo will step back several centuries during the last weekend of August. From August 28 to 30, the municipality hosts a new edition of its Medieval Market, with a programme designed for all audiences that combines shows, music, and entertainment.
The event will kick off on Friday, August 28 at 18:00 hours with the official inauguration. At that same time and also at 20:00 hours, the Upsala Company will launch its parades through the urban area. The first day will close at 20:00 hours with Magic on a Summer Night, a show by Óscar Ruí.
Saturday, August 29 will be the main day. The Upsala Company will repeat its parades in four sessions: 12:00, 14:00, 18:00, and 20:00 hours. Between 13:00 and 15:00 hours, those who dare can participate in the traditional individual cucaña, with the winner taking home a ham as a prize. The day will end at 22:00 hours with a show of music, dance, and fire featuring Upsala and Millaversum.
On Sunday, August 30, the Upsala Company will offer two new parades, at 12:00 and 14:00 hours, before the market's closing ceremony at 15:00 hours. During these three days, locals and visitors can stroll through the stalls and enjoy the medieval atmosphere in the heart of the Sierra Norte, providing a family-friendly leisure opportunity without leaving the region.
The organisation recommends arriving early to enjoy all the activities, which take place outdoors in the streets of the municipality. Admission is free and no prior registration is required to attend the shows.
