The municipality of Cerceda is preparing for a very special chess day. On Saturday, August 29, 2026, the local park will host Chess BCM in the Park, a free activity open to all audiences that is part of the programming for the Cerceda Patron Saint Festivities 2026.
The event will start at 12:00 PM and will feature a top-level attraction: the chance to face off against Grandmaster (G.M.) Yuznel Bacallao in rapid and blindfold exhibitions. Bacallao, one of the highest-rated chess players in Cuba with extensive international experience, will provide a unique opportunity for local enthusiasts.
In addition to the exhibitions, the day will include learning workshops for those who want to start or improve their skills, and free chess zones with boards available for playing with family or friends.
