Mataelpino (El Boalo) celebrates its patron saint festivities in honour of San Bartolomé from 20 to 24 August, featuring boloencierro, street parties, orchestras, and activities for all ages.
The district of Mataelpino, part of the municipality of El Boalo, has prepared a packed programme of activities for its patron saint festivities in honour of San Bartolomé, which will take place from 20 to 24 August. The agenda combines traditions such as boloencierro with musical performances, street parties, and children's proposals.
The celebrations will kick off on Thursday, 20 August at 21:30 with the Crival dance, followed by the official opening speech at 23:30. At midnight, the Orquesta Jaguar will entertain the first night until 4:00 in the morning.
Friday, 21 August will be dedicated to families with the Holly Family Race at 12:00 and the Unplugged Games half an hour later. The Foam Party and DJ aperitif will start at 13:00, followed by a macaroni dish at 14:30. In the afternoon, the Yellow Humour Peñas at 19:30 will lead to the Orquesta Solara at 22:00. The night will conclude with a night encierro at 0:30 and a DJ session until 4:30, with Festibús service at 3:00 and 5:15.
Saturday, 22 August is the main day for the encierros: the children's boloencierro at 11:00 and the adults' at 12:00. At 12:30 there will be water inflatables and foam, and at 13:00 a DJ aperitif that will last until 17:00. The afternoon includes a novice bullfight without picadors at 18:30 and the bingo of the "Las Águedas" Association at 20:30. The Orquesta Liverpool will perform from 22:00, followed by a DJ session until 4:30 and a new Festibús service.
Sunday, 23 August will start with a children's boloencierro at 11:00 and a chess tournament at 11:30. At 12:00 there will be a children's bull run, followed by inflatables and foam at 12:30 and a DJ aperitif at 13:00. The foosball tournament will take place at 13:30. In the evening, at 20:30, there will be theatre as part of the Summer Scenes cycle, and at 23:00 a tribute to El Canto del Loco and Pereza. The night will end with a DJ session until 3:00.
On Monday, 24 August, the day of San Bartolomé, the day will begin with a mass and procession at 12:00. The day will be marked by religious events and will serve as a culmination of five days of festivities where locals and visitors can enjoy local gastronomy and the most deeply rooted traditions of the Sierra de Guadarrama.
The programme also includes Festibús services on the nights of Friday and Saturday to facilitate transportation. The organisation recommends checking updated schedules on the official channels of the El Boalo Town Hall for any last-minute changes.
