Redueña celebrates its patronal festival in honour of the Christ of Health from August 28 to September 14, featuring sports, culture, music, and tradition.
The municipality of Redueña has unveiled the programme for the 2026 Festival in Honour of the Christ of Health, which will take place from August 28 to September 14. More than two weeks during which sports, culture, games, music, gastronomy, and tradition will combine in a programme designed for all ages, with a leading role for local clubs, associations, and residents.
The celebrations will kick off on Friday, August 28 with the opening of the Second Photography Contest “The Funniest Photo of the Festival” and a night march from the square. From there, the Sports-Cultural Week will begin, which will include championships in paddle, petanque, beach paddles, table tennis, foosball, fronton, mus, and the Chupetines Race for the little ones.
The programme also includes a Ninja Warrior Circuit, craft workshops, exhibitions, and cultural activities. On Friday, September 4, the municipal fronton will host a performance of Fuenteovejuna. This combination of sports, culture, and community has become one of the hallmarks of these festivities, which in previous editions have already extended the celebration well beyond the main weekend.
The more festive part will begin on Thursday, September 10 with the opening speech, which this year will be given by the club “From Lost... to Redueña”. This will be followed by the traditional club dinner and a performance by La mitad de feos, featuring popular music from the 80s and 90s.
On Friday, it will be the turn of the Rural Olympics for clubs, the costume contest, bingo, and a long night of music with Orquesta Fénix and DJ Cuko. On Saturday the 12th, the day will start with churros and chocolate in the square and continue with the Gastronomic Contest enlivened by a brass band, the exhibition of small oxen, and the traditional clay pigeon shooting in the Prado de las Viñas. In the evening, Orquesta La Fusión, bingo, and DJ Israel Rojo will extend the celebration until the early hours.
The devotion to the Christ of Health constitutes the traditional axis of these festivities, which Redueña celebrates every September. On Sunday, September 13, there will be a floral offering and food collection at 11:30 AM and, at 12:00 PM, the mass and procession of the Christ of Health of Redueña. The day will continue with a community meal, a children's park, bingo, trophy presentations, and a flamenco performance by Víctor Jinete.
The programme will conclude on Monday, September 14, at 12:00 PM, with the mass for the Christ of Health.
The festivities maintain a recognisable structure from edition to edition: in 2024 and 2025, activities that return this year were already present, such as churros with chocolate, the gastronomic contest, club activities, clay pigeon shooting, the children's park, the community meal, music, and religious events. But perhaps what best defines these dates is something simpler: for a few days, much of life in Redueña takes place in the streets and in the company of others.
Residents of different generations, associations, clubs, and visitors will share squares, games, tables, competitions, music, and traditions in a festival that is part of the municipality's identity. The complete programme is available for consultation and participation in the activities of the 2026 Festival in Honour of the Christ of Health.
