The Patron Saint Festivities 2026 in honour of the Most Holy Christ of Consolation will take place throughout September in Sevilla la Nueva, featuring a programme that includes an opening speech, street parties, tribute concerts and religious events.
The municipality of Sevilla la Nueva is all set for its Patron Saint Festivities 2026 in honour of the Most Holy Christ of Consolation, which will unfold during the month of September with a programme designed for all ages. Local associations, music, religious traditions and sports activities will fill the streets and squares of the town.
The festivities will kick off on Saturday, September 5 with the presentation of local associations and the placing of scarves in Plaza de España, followed by the traditional parade with the band Bellotas Sound and a meal for the associations. In the afternoon, Plaza de los Arcos will host bingo, music and live performances.
On Sunday 6, the Water Festival will take place, featuring foam cannons, water inflatables and a 50-metre slide, along with a Dog Beauty Contest and exhibition. On Wednesday 9, the town's seniors will have their meal and a performance by Raúl Santana.
Opening speech and religious events
On Friday, September 11 at 23:00 hours, the traditional opening speech will be delivered from the balcony of the Town Hall. This year, the speakers will be the Peña Llámala y Corre, the oldest association in the town, and local resident Jaime Domínguez, known as Jimmy Go, an ultra-trail runner promoting the 'Break the Silence' challenge. Before this, from 19:30 hours, parades with giants and big-heads will roam the streets accompanied by the associations.
After the opening speech, there will be fireworks at the Rotonda del Hórreo and an intense musical night with a street party, disco session and DJs in Plaza de España and in the tent at Plaza de los Arcos. Saturday 12 will continue with a vermouth session, traditional games, foosball, multi-sport gallery, close-up magic and the street party with the Orquesta Maremagnum.
Religious events will play a central role: triduum, exposition of the Most Holy and rosary in the days leading up to the festivities. On Sunday 13 at 13:00 hours, there will be a Floral Offering to the Most Holy Christ of Consolation, and on Monday 14, the feast day of the patron saint, a mass will be held at 12:00 and a procession at 19:30 through the streets of the town.
Tribute concerts, bull releases and the Great Chuletada
On Friday 18, there will be a gathering of associations, a parade with a band to the Bullring, the Cagada del Manso, the release of young bulls and a street party for seniors with the Orquesta Avatars. The musical night will continue in the tent with two tribute concerts: Fitomanía (Fito & Fitipaldis) at 23:00 hours and Queen Legacy (Queen) at 00:30 hours.
On Saturday 19, the Humor Amarillo will be for associations, a children's bull run with oxen and the release of young bulls. At 21:00 hours, the XLVI Great Chuletada will take place, followed by the street party with the Orquesta Musical Compass. On Sunday 20, there will be a gathering of associations, bullfighting activities, a Colour Festival and the traditional End of Festivities Firecracker.
The sports programme will extend throughout September and early October with beach volleyball, petanque, zumba, chess, tennis, paddle tennis and the XIII Popular Race 'Running for Héctor Valero', which will be held on Sunday, October 4. The Town Hall will install public toilets, a Violet Point and reusable cups to promote safe and sustainable festivities.
