The Alcalá Fairs Tour All Neighbourhoods with Giants, Inflatables and a 100-Metre Slide

Giants, Pequeñantes, inflatables and a 100-metre water slide bring the Alcalá Fairs to all neighbourhoods until 29 August.

The Giants and Bigheads, the Pequeñantes, inflatables and a water slide of over 100 metres bring the Alcalá Fairs to all districts until Saturday, 29 August.

This year, the Alcalá Fairs extend beyond the Historic Centre and reach all neighbourhoods with parades, playgrounds and water attractions. The programme includes the parades of Giants and Bigheads, the Pequeñantes, inflatables in squares and parks, and a water slide of over 100 metres.

The Giants began their route on Monday in the Venecia neighbourhood and continued on Tuesday through Val and Juan de Austria. This Wednesday, they visited the area of Caballería Española, Lope de Vega and the Paseo de la Estación. On Thursday 27, they departed from El Ensanche, toured El Olivar and, as a novelty this year, also Las Sedas.

On Friday 28, it will be the turn of Espartales and Espartales Norte: the procession will leave from Plaza de Reina Cristina and reach Ciudad 10. On Saturday 29 August, the Giants will depart again from Plaza de Cervantes to tour the Chorrillo neighbourhood and the Parque del Ángel before returning to the centre.

Until Friday 28 August, the Young Giants and Bigheads Association 'Los Pequeñantes' will also take to the streets. In addition to the Historic Centre, this year they will reach the Venecia neighbourhood, Paseo de Pastrana, Val, Reyes Católicos and Paseo de la Estación.

The inflatables will be set up at various points in the city during the afternoon until Saturday 29. The planned locations include El Olivar, Huerto de Los Leones, Plaza del Barro, Plaza de Sepúlveda, Plaza del Viento, Parque de Magallanes, Juan de Austria, Parque de Andalucía, La Garena, Parque Tierno Galván, Octavio Paz, Ciudad del Aire, Parque del Chorrillo, Parque Manuel Azaña and Parque San Isidro.

The main attraction of these fairs will be the water slide of over 100 metres, installed on the slope of Pedro Llanos street, next to the Gilitos Cultural Centre. The installation is complemented by the popular foam party, designed for the little ones.

Residents of each neighbourhood will be able to enjoy the activities without the need to travel to the centre, with specific times and days according to the area. To know the details of each activity, it is recommended to consult the official programme of the Alcalá de Henares City Council.
