Torrejón de Ardoz's municipal pools close their season this Sunday, August 30. The mayor encourages everyone to enjoy the facilities, which include Spain's only municipal Wave Pool.
The swimming season at the municipal pools in Torrejón de Ardoz comes to an end this Sunday, August 30. The mayor, Alejandro Navarro Prieto, has urged residents to take advantage of the last days, highlighting that the municipality has the only municipal Wave Pool in Spain.
The facilities open from 12:00 to 21:00, with extended hours this season: closing has been pushed back by half an hour to 21:00, whereas it used to be at 20:30. "We have responded to the request of many residents and the schedule has been modified," confirmed the mayor.
Users can choose from six pools spread across two complexes: three at the Juan Antonio Samaranch Sports Complex (children's, indoor, and wave pool) and three at the Blume Sports City (children's, 25 meters, and Olympic).
Prices remain unchanged, as in previous years. General admission costs 1.20 euros for registered unemployed with at least six months of unemployment. Additionally, from 18:00, a 50% discount applies to all entries.
Registered residents with an ADM card enter for free and can purchase guest passes for 5 entries for 25 euros. Online tickets can be bought three days in advance for cardholders and two days for others, via the website aytotorrejon.deporsite.net or in person at the pools with ID.
The City Council has invested 280,000 euros in improvements this season. At the Wave Pool, the pool bottom, sound system, and beach area showers have been renovated, along with replenishing sand and vinyls. Facades and interiors have also been painted, and natural grass has been planted along the Cypress walkway of the Samaranch.
I encourage our residents to enjoy the last days of this season at our excellent municipal pools that have been renovated to keep them in perfect condition," stated Navarro.
The mayor reminded that the Wave Pool is "another attraction" within Torrejón's summer leisure offerings, which include the Fountain Show, Veranearte, Summer Cinema, and Special Days at the region's theme parks.
Those wishing for a last swim should keep in mind that the afternoon hours are the busiest and that capacity is limited. Ticket sales for the last day will be available until Saturday online and on Sunday at the box office.
