The Las Rozas City Council is taking advantage of the summer to carry out improvements in fourteen public educational centres with an investment of 1.4 million euros, which will be ready for the start of the school year.
The City Council of Las Rozas is undertaking improvement works in fourteen public educational centres in the municipality during the summer holidays, with a total investment of 1,438,111.46 euros (including VAT). The work, which is being carried out in Infant and Primary schools, CEIPSO, a special education centre, and nursery schools, will be completed before the start of the next school year.
The Councillor for Infrastructures, José Cabrera, and the Councillor for Education, Gloria Fernández, visited CEIP San Miguel this morning to check on the progress of the works at this centre, where improvements are being made to the playgrounds, the office area, the façade, and the climate control system.
According to municipal sources, the Education and Infrastructures departments have worked with the management of the schools and nursery schools to understand their needs and prioritise interventions during the summer period when the centres are closed.
The centres included in this programme are CEIP La Encina, Los Olivos, San José, Fernando de los Ríos, Vicente Aleixandre, San Miguel, and Siglo XXI; CEIPSO El Cantizal, Mario Vargas Llosa, and Los Jarales; the Special Education School Monte Abantos; and the Nursery Schools Cigüeña María, Juan Ramón Jiménez, and La Marazuela.
The works generally include climate control, painting, metalwork, replacement of flooring in various areas, refurbishment of bathrooms, installation of doors, and replacement of damaged windows or fencing.
Among the most notable actions, bathrooms will be refurbished at CEIPSO El Cantizal and CEE Monte Abantos; at Los Jarales, the windows on the south façade are set to be replaced; at La Encina, the gym flooring will be changed; and at CEIPSO Mario Vargas Llosa, the outdoor garden floor will be renewed, and the dining room will be improved. In nearly all centres, investment will be made to enhance climate control, a key aspect for the comfort of students and teachers.
With these actions, the City Council aims to ensure that the centres are in optimal condition for the return to classrooms, minimising disruptions during the school year.
