Alcalá closes Teniente Ruiz street for resurfacing works from August 10

The Local Police of Alcalá de Henares announces the closure of Teniente Ruiz street for resurfacing works starting Monday, August 10. The restriction will affect traffic and several bus lines until August 20.

Teniente Ruiz street in Alcalá de Henares will remain closed to traffic from Monday, August 10 to carry out the resurfacing works included in the Mobility and Accessibility Improvement Project for this road. The restriction will last until August 20, according to the Local Police.

The affected section is between the intersection with Ronda Ancha and Padre Francisco and the intersection with Plaza de los Cuatro Caños. During these two weeks, vehicular traffic and bus services will undergo changes in the area.

Urban lines 6 and 7, as well as interurban lines 231 and 232, will have their usual routes altered. The City Council recommends users check the diversions and exercise caution while travelling.

To minimise inconvenience, accessibility to the area will be maintained through alternative routes via Azucena and Teniente Ruiz streets, ensuring local access to the affected areas. However, it is warned that there may be temporary point restrictions on both roads.

On the morning of August 10, traffic will be allowed on Azucena street to facilitate access to the municipal market during its early hours. On other days, access will be via the following diversions:

Access to Cruz de Guadalajara street (section between Teniente Ruiz and Azucena): Azucena street → Padre Francisco street → Divino Figueroa street → Cruz de Guadalajara street.

Access to Cruz de Guadalajara street (section between Teniente Ruiz and Simón García de Pedro): Ronda Ancha street → Encomienda street → Cruz de Guadalajara street.

When complete occupation of the roadway on Sebastián de la Plaza street is necessary, traffic may be allowed on Teniente Ruiz street to ensure road connectivity with Azucena street and adjacent streets.

The Local Police asks residents and visitors to respect the installed provisional signage and use the marked routes. The works are part of a broader project to improve mobility and accessibility on this central road in Alcalá de Henares.
