The new car park, funded by European funds, opens this Friday, September 25, after completing works that cost €655,143.54. It occupies land leased from ADIF in front of the station, in the area of Raso de la Estrella.
The City Council of Aranjuez is putting into service this Friday, September 25, the new car park located next to the Train Station, with more than 400 spaces. The mayor, Miguel Gómez Herrero, announced this morning the completion of the works, which have transformed a space previously used informally as a parking area.
The project involved an investment of €655,143.54, VAT included, funded by Next Generation EU Funds as part of the Sustainable Tourism Plan. The car park is located in front of the station, in the area of Raso de la Estrella, covering an area of 16,356 square meters.
We are responding to a demand from residents and users of the train service,” said Mayor Miguel Gómez Herrero, while informing about the completion of the works.
The land was leased from ADIF following the agreement of the Local Government Board on October 27, 2025. The contract lasts for 20 years and allows the City Council to allocate the plot for public use.
The new infrastructure aims to promote intermodality, meaning users can leave their cars and continue their journey by train. It also integrates with other initiatives in the area, such as the pedestrian connection between the Royal Palace and the Train Station.
With this opening, the City Council organizes parking at one of the main access points to the city and improves safety, accessibility, and coexistence between vehicles, pedestrians, and public transport.
The car park opens to the public this Friday, September 25, with over 400 spaces available for residents and travellers using the train station.
