Chapinería hires 17 unemployed people with €507,768 to combat depopulation

The Town Hall of Chapinería has received a grant of €507,768.36 from the employment-training programme of the Community of Madrid to hire 17 unemployed individuals for 12 months in municipal services.

The Town Hall of Chapinería has been awarded a grant of €507,768.36 aimed at temporarily hiring 17 unemployed individuals for 12 months. The funding comes from the Public Employment-Training Programme for Professional Activation, an initiative by the Community of Madrid to reverse depopulation in rural municipalities.

The contracts will be distributed across various municipal areas. The temporary workforce will include 1 library assistant, 2 gardeners, 1 local development agent, 1 communications professional, 1 tourism professional, 2 building maintenance workers, 1 home care assistant, 1 sports coordinator, 1 sports instructor, 4 street sweepers, and 2 building cleaning professionals.

The grant is part of the aid scheme for 2026 and was granted through the Resolution of the call, under the Order of 09/04/2026 from the Minister of Economy, Finance and Employment, and the orders of 8 May 2023 and 23 December 2025.
