The Colmenar Viejo Town Hall launches the 'Colmenar Viejo is family' campaign with the participation of dozens of establishments that will facilitate phone calls for minors in need. The participating shops will display a visible sign in their windows.
The Colmenar Viejo Town Hall has launched the commercial dynamisation campaign 'Colmenar Viejo is family', an initiative aimed at enabling minors to make phone calls in case of need from shops in the municipality. The measure, promoted by the Department of Business Development, Economy and Employment along with the Association of Businessmen, Traders and Self-Employed of Colmenar Viejo (ASEYACOVI), begins on 10 September 2026.
The participating establishments will display a visible sign in their windows and entrances so that minors can easily identify the places where they can ask for help. They will be provided with the use of a phone to contact their family members or legal guardians, as explained by the third deputy mayor and councillor for Business Development, Economy and Employment, Susana Jiménez Aibar.
The aim is to reinforce the protection of children and promote the social commitment of local commerce, creating a network of establishments that act as support points for minors who find themselves alone, disoriented, or in need of immediate contact with their families," the councillor stated.
The campaign is conceived as a preventive and community measure based on the voluntary collaboration of the commercial fabric. The shops participating in the initiative are numerous and cover various sectors, from driving schools and pharmacies to hairdressers, opticians, and grocery stores. The councillor emphasised that the initiative is "a preventive and community measure, based on the voluntary collaboration of the local commercial fabric and aimed at strengthening the ties between establishments, families, and the population as a whole."
Shops interested in joining can contact the Department of Business Development, Economy and Employment or ASEYACOVI to receive the sign and join the network.
