Colmenarejo receives an award from Mares Circulares for cleaning Valmayor

The Colmenarejo Town Council has been honoured by Mares Circulares, the Coca-Cola programme, for its participation in the cleaning of the Valmayor reservoir since 2018. The council has expressed gratitude for the recognition to the volunteers and organisations that collaborate in these events.

The Colmenarejo Town Council has received recognition from Mares Circulares, the initiative for the conservation and cleaning of aquatic environments promoted by Coca-Cola, for its collaboration in cleaning actions and environmental awareness. The municipality has been participating in these activities since 2018 in the area of the Valmayor reservoir.

The award acknowledges the ongoing work of volunteers and organisations in waste collection and subsequent recycling. The council has thanked the involvement of local residents who participate in the cleaning days, as well as that of the organisations and municipalities that share the same goal, such as Albacete, Manzanares Real, Limpiemos Burguillo, Galp, Ilunion, Taco Bell, Tierra Burrito, and Cines Yelmo.

Thanks to all the people, volunteers, organisations, and collaborators who make it possible for us to continue caring for our environment year after year,” stated the Colmenarejo Town Council.

Among the actions carried out, the waste collection day in Valmayor stands out, in which students from 1st year of ESO at IES Gregorio Peces-Barba participated in 2021, with materials being sent for recycling. The Town Council maintains its commitment to the conservation of the reservoir and its surroundings through new calls for environmental volunteering.
