The Móstoles City Council kicks off the 2026-2027 children's participation forum. The group for ages 8 to 12 starts on October 5 and has available places.
The Móstoles City Council, through the Department of Youth, Family, Equality and Cooperation, has opened the new 2026-2027 course of the children's, adolescent and youth participation forum, as part of the Local Childhood and Adolescence Plan. The group aimed at children aged 8 to 12 years begins on October 5 and still has free places.
Sessions are held every two weeks, on Mondays or Thursdays, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM, at the Pablo Ráez Martínez Youth and Childhood Centre, located at 15 Pintor Ribera Street. Registration is free and is managed via email.
Participants work on the reality of the municipality: they gather their concerns, worries, and proposals for improvement. There are also workshops on children's and adolescents' rights and on how to present ideas with confidence and clarity, as explained by the City Council.
The dynamics are supported by constant debates on topics that interest or concern the group. With this format, the kids develop their argumentative skills, active listening, and critical and constructive dialogue.
Throughout the course, exhibitions of their creations and proposals, scavenger hunts, outdoor activities, and meetings with other municipalities are also organized.
The Local Childhood and Adolescence Plan of the Móstoles City Council commits to Article 12 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (UN, 1989) to ensure children's and adolescents' participation in decisions that affect them.
