The Town Hall of El Escorial has launched the renovation of the lighting on Manuel Moratiel Ibán street, one of the busiest roads in the municipality. The work, which is already underway, includes the installation of new double-arm streetlights in the median to improve driver visibility and additional lights on the sidewalks to enhance pedestrian safety.
The project addresses the need to improve the distribution of lighting and reduce areas with lower visibility. This street is a key communication axis, as it connects with other urban developments and nearby municipalities, as well as providing access to services and commercial establishments.
The total investment amounts to €149,964.52, of which €123,937.62 corresponds to the awarded amount and €26,026.90 to VAT. The work includes civil engineering, electrical installation, dismantling, and waste management.
With this initiative, the council continues to modernise municipal infrastructures, adapting public spaces to current needs and focusing on energy efficiency and safety. Residents will notice an immediate improvement in visibility for both driving and walking, especially in the darker sections.
The works are taking place on the street itself, so there may be occasional traffic disruptions or parking issues during the work. The Town Hall has not specified the exact completion date, but the new lighting is expected to be operational in the coming weeks.
