The Galapagar City Council has awarded the contract to renew the public lighting of El Guijo. The investment exceeds 2.1 million euros and the works will last 15 months.
The Galapagar City Council has awarded the contract for the comprehensive reform of the public lighting in the El Guijo urbanisation. The project, which will involve an investment of 2,143,149.40 euros, will start soon and has an execution period of 15 months.
The current infrastructure is over 25 years old and has suffered numerous breakdowns recently. The project includes replacing the existing 532 luminaires with high-efficiency LED technology, as well as renewing the electrical panels, conduits, and supports. Telemanagement systems will also be incorporated to improve the control and functioning of the network.
Additionally, the works will take the opportunity to renew the sidewalks in areas where intervention is necessary and new urban furniture will be installed. The works will be carried out progressively to minimise inconvenience to residents and ensure service during execution.
With this renewal, the city council aims to provide a definitive solution to the lighting problems of El Guijo and modernise a network that has become obsolete. The project is part of the municipal commitment to improve infrastructure and move towards more efficient and sustainable lighting, responding to a long-standing demand from residents.
