The City Council of Majadahonda and the Civil Guard are organising the official event for National Day, which will take place on Monday, October 12 at 1:00 PM in Colón Park, featuring the raising of the flag, awards, and a tribute to the fallen.
The Colón Park in Majadahonda will host the official event for National Day on Monday, October 12, which will begin at 1:00 PM and will include the traditional tribute to the Flag of Spain. The ceremony will be presided over by the mayor, Lola Moreno, and Lieutenant Alberto Ruiz, head of the Main Post of the Civil Guard in the municipality.
The event will start with the raising of the flag and the performance of the national anthem by the Municipal Music Band. Following this, awards and diplomas will be presented to members of the Local Police and the Civil Guard, in recognition of their professionalism in service.
Afterwards, a tribute will be paid to the civil guards, police officers, and soldiers who have fallen for Spain, as is done every year. The ceremony will conclude with the performance of the national anthem of Spain and the official anthem of the Civil Guard.
The City Council has invited all residents to participate in the tribute and to decorate balconies and windows with the national flag. Additionally, from Friday, October 9 to Monday, October 12, the facade of the town hall and the city’s fountains will be illuminated in red and yellow to celebrate Hispanic Day.

The event coincides with the feast of the Virgin of the Pillar, patroness of the Civil Guard, which is also celebrated on October 12.
