The Manzanares El Real Town Hall opens until August 25 for proposals to participate in the celebration of the International Day of Peace, which will take place on September 20. Proposals for gastronomy, art, and testimonies are being sought.
The Manzanares El Real Town Hall has opened the deadline for associations, artists, traders, and residents to submit their proposals for the celebration of the International Day of Peace, which will be commemorated on September 20. The call, promoted by the Department of Citizen Participation, will remain open until August 25.
The municipality, declared a Zone of International Culture of Peace almost a year ago, wants to reaffirm its commitment to coexistence and human rights with this new edition, whose central theme will be multicultural coexistence. The aim is to highlight the wealth that diversity brings to the territory through cultural exchange, art, and neighbourly coexistence.
The department especially invites people from other countries to showcase what they bring from their origins, whether it be art, food, or values. The proposals are structured in three areas: the International Gastronomic Fair, with stalls of typical dishes and products; the Artistic and Dance Showcase, featuring performances of traditional dances, live music, or recitals; and the Space for Testimonies and Stories, an open microphone to share stories of migration and integration.
To coordinate the activities and gather all ideas, the Neighbourhood Council of Culture of Peace will hold two preparatory meetings next week: on Monday, August 10 and Tuesday, August 11 at 18:00 in the Plenary Hall. Representatives of groups, artists, participants in the gastronomic fair, and individual residents are invited.
Applications can be submitted in person at the Town Hall Registry, from 08:30 to 13:30, or by email to concejalia.participacionciudadana@manzanareselreal.es, indicating name, contact, type of collaboration, and a brief description of the proposal. The Town Hall encourages the addition of ideas and efforts to continue strengthening the municipality's declaration as a Zone of International Culture of Peace.
