The Móstoles City Council has established two new bus bays and two shelters on Avenida de Portugal, between Paseo de Goya and Paseo de la Estación, to redistribute the lines and reduce saturation.
The Móstoles City Council has completed the expansion works of the bus bays on Avenida de Portugal, between Paseo de Goya and Paseo de la Estación, an action aimed at organising the stops and improving public transport service at one of the key connection points in the city.
The intervention, visited today by Mayor Manuel Bautista, Urban Planning Councillor Sergio Soler, and Mobility Councillor Raquel Manjavacas, consisted of extending the platform by approximately 80 metres, which has allowed for the establishment of two new bays, 4 and 5, in addition to the three existing ones.
With these new bays, the number of lines stopping at the shelter located before Paseo de Goya, which was congested, has been reduced. Additionally, two shelters have been installed, one single and one double, both with electrical connections available 24 hours.
The work has been completed with horizontal signage for the new bays and an informational sign detailing the lines, operators, and destinations of each stop, making it easier for travellers to locate their bus.
To compensate for the reduction of nine parking spaces caused by the construction, the City Council had already expanded parking on Avenida de Portugal, between Calle Daoiz and Paseo de la Estación, where approximately 25 spaces have been created in line.
The new distribution of the five bays is as follows: bay 1, before Paseo de Goya, accommodates lines 529, 529A, 529H, 531, 531A, N501 and N505; bay 2, lines 498, 498A, 499 and 519; bay 3, line 5; bay 4, lines 535, VAC082 and VAC226; and bay 5, lines VAC063, VAC087 and VAC051.
With this reorganisation, the City Council aims to decongest the main stop and provide a more comfortable and functional service to users, who will now have more space and clear information about the stops.
