The Crime Balance for the first half of 2026 places the municipality at 20.97 crimes per thousand inhabitants, below the Community of Madrid (28.67) and Spain (24.67). The councillor for Citizen Security attributes the year-on-year increase to a higher clearance rate.
The Ministry of the Interior has published the Crime Balance for the first half of 2026, which places San Martín de la Vega at 20.97 crimes per thousand inhabitants. This figure is 7.7 points below the average for the Community of Madrid (28.67) and 3.7 points below the national average (24.67).
In conventional crime, the municipality records 17.19 crimes per thousand inhabitants, with a total of 360 crimes. The regional average in this category is 23.02 and the national average is 19.68. Additionally, there is cybercrime, with 3.77 crimes per thousand inhabitants and 79 cases, also below the regional and national averages.
Compared to the same period in 2025, the total number of crimes has increased. The Government Delegation attributes this increase to the clearance and resolution rate, which remains steady in the municipality. The councillor for Citizen Security, Sergio Neira, explained that the rises in crimes against sexual freedom, violent robberies, or drug trafficking are due to police interventions that have allowed for the identification and arrest of the perpetrators.
