The Outdoor department of Las Rozas has organised a training plan with GREIM, GERA, and the Spanish School of Rescue Pisters to improve safety in its outdoor activities.
The Outdoor department of the Las Rozas Sports Council has launched a continuous training programme aimed at its technicians and instructors to reinforce rescue, evacuation, and emergency protocols in the mountains. The initiative aims to ensure safety in activities such as climbing, hiking, or mountain biking, which are organised throughout the year for both adults and minors through schools.
The programme began last June with a training day in collaboration with GREIM (Mountain Rescue and Intervention Group) of the Guardia Civil. Municipal technicians visited the operational base of the group at Puerto de Navacerrada, where they learned first-hand about the procedures followed by the specialised rescue units and analysed the coordination mechanisms between Outdoor professionals and emergency teams.
The training will continue next September with a course on Immediate Life Support with Mountain First Aid Kit, taught by the Spanish School of Rescue Pisters. This theoretical-practical training action will allow participants to delve into the organisation and configuration of a mountain first aid kit, as well as the basic techniques of healthcare in natural environments.
The programme will conclude in October with a new specialisation day alongside GERA (Special Rescue Group in Height) of the Community of Madrid Fire Brigade, focused on evacuation and rescue procedures in emergency situations.
Through these training actions, the Sports Council strengthens the skills of professionals who carry out outdoor activities, improving prevention and response protocols in the event of incidents and contributing to providing an increasingly safe and higher quality service to the residents of Las Rozas.
