The coach of Málaga, José Mourinho, has responded with a brief 'doesn't deserve comment' to the statements made by referee Funes after the match that pitted his team against Real Madrid. This is shown in a video published by Movistar Plus Deportes on their TikTok account.
In the 20-second video, Mourinho can be heard saying: 'I really don't want to focus on the referee because obviously Madrid wins today because they are much better than us.' The Portuguese coach avoided delving into the referee's performance, although he hinted at his discomfort: 'Personally, I don't know, we will have to analyse it better. You do get the feeling that if you blow on it, it's a foul, and when it's the other way round, it seems that if there's no blood, nothing has happened, right?'.
The match, corresponding to the LaLiga EA Sports matchday, took place on 30 August 2026 at the Real Madrid stadium. With this defeat, Málaga continues its journey in the competition, while the white team adds three points that keep them at the top of the table.
Mourinho's words come after Funes, the referee of the match, made statements that the Málaga coach preferred not to comment on in depth. The video has quickly spread on social media under the hashtag #LaCasaDelFútbol.
