Alpedrete Library Expands Its Catalogue with 40 New Additions in August

Alpedrete Library adds books, comics, and films for all ages in August, including titles like 'Warrior's Ardour' and 'Moana 2'.

Alpedrete Municipal Library adds a selection of books, comics, and films for all ages in August, from baby books to adults.

Alpedrete Municipal Library has presented its August 2026 newsletter, featuring a selection that ranges from baby stories to thrillers and essays for adults. In total, dozens of titles are being added across the children's, youth, and adult sections, as well as the comic and audiovisual sections.

Among the new additions for the youngest readers, the children's room (ages 0 to 9) includes titles such as “Guess Who's Going to Bed”, a flap book about animals, or “The Soup is Ready!”, a cumulative cardboard story. For children aged 6 to 9, suspense works like “Many Scares and Few Treats” and the family album “Butterflies: When Families Change”, which addresses parental separation, are being added.

The youth room (ages 9 to 18) is also refreshed with varied proposals: from the video diary “My Name is Goa: The Day the World Stopped” to the historical novel “The Boy Who Gave Me the Sea”, about Spanish children who travelled to the USSR in 1937. For those over 15, successful titles like “Daisy Haites” and “Powerful” are arriving.

In the adult section, social and autobiographical novels stand out, with works like “Alone in the Silence” or the memoir of Antonio Muñoz Molina, “Warrior's Ardour”. Thrillers and suspense are represented by “The Great Fairy Scam” and “The Year of the Locust”, while the historical novel includes “The Diva”, about soprano Adelina Patti.

The comics section adds titles for adults like “Criminal Complete. 1” and the manga “The Boy and the Dog”, while the youngest can enjoy “Where is Stitch?” and “I Don't Like Love!”, by The Terrible Adele. In audiovisuals, films like “The Fighter”, “Inception”, and “Moana 2” are being added.

The complete newsletter is available on the Alpedrete Town Hall website, where interested parties can consult all titles and recommended ages. Loans are made at the municipal library itself, which offers this service free of charge to residents.
