The Aranjuez City Council commemorates the 25th anniversary of the declaration of the Cultural Landscape as a World Heritage Site with a weekend of free music. The El Real Sitio Symphony Orchestra will open on Friday, September 25, in the Bullring.
The Aranjuez Bullring will host the 25th Anniversary Concert of the Aranjuez Cultural Landscape Declaration on Friday, September 25, at 20:00, kicking off a weekend of three free performances organized by the Aranjuez City Council and the Friends of the Opera Association of Aranjuez.
The El Real Sitio Symphony Orchestra (Katarina Gurska Foundation), made up of more than 70 musicians and conducted by Borja Quintas, will headline the inaugural event in the bicentennial venue. Admission is free until full capacity is reached, with 1,500 seats available.
On Saturday, September 26, at 19:30, the same stage will host the lyrical concert 'Great Voices', featuring mezzo-soprano Olga Syniakova and tenor Jorge Puerta, accompanied on piano by conductor Teresa Cos and with the collaboration of oboist Louis Luciat. There will also be 1,500 seats and free entry.
The programme will conclude on Sunday, September 27, at 12:00, in the Plaza de la Constitución with 'Viva la Zarzuela', featuring soprano Andreina Williams and baritone Abelardo Cárdenas, alongside the A.O.A. String Quartet under the direction of Gena Liévano. In this case, capacity is limited to 200 seats, with free access until they are filled.
All three concerts are funded by the Community of Madrid for the tourism development of the region's World Heritage destinations. This anniversary marks the 25th year since Aranjuez was declared a Cultural Landscape World Heritage Site by UNESCO, with the 25th anniversary occurring in 2026.
The complete programme of performances can be consulted on the poster published by the City Council. Tickets do not require prior reservation: simply attend each venue until the tickets run out.
