The Coral Cantoría is celebrating its 20th anniversary this Saturday with a concert at the Auditorium of Valdemorillo starting at 20:00. The group, founded in 2006, has prepared a review of its repertoire with images and sounds to share with the audience that has followed it over these two decades.
The mixed choir is still directed by its founder, Román Clemente Magán, and features soprano Almudena Olayo as guide and accompaniment. The ensemble performs everything from zarzuela and jazz to fados, folk songs, and soundtracks, with a section for the youngest.

In these two decades, the Coral Cantoría has performed in theatres, senior centres, and churches in the capital and the Community of Madrid. In San Lorenzo de El Escorial, it was selected to replace the Escolanía during their holidays, a role it has maintained this year in July and August at the Basilica of the Monastery.
From 2024, the local choir's rehearsals will take place in Valdemorillo. The group welcomes new members and participates in weddings, funerals, and Christmas celebrations, in addition to collaborating with the NGO Cinco Palabras in its charitable causes.
The anniversary concert will be this Saturday at 20:00 in the Auditorium of Valdemorillo. Admission is open to neighbours and friends who wish to join the choir in the celebration.
