On Friday, September 25 at 19:00, Plaza del Campillo in Gargantilla del Lozoya will host the presentation of the book 'Mural de resistencia. Poesía por la igualdad y el desagravio' by Ángeles Fernangómez. The work responds to the attack suffered by the feminist mural in the La Concepción neighbourhood in 2021.
The Plaza del Campillo in Gargantilla del Lozoya will be the venue on Friday, September 25 at 19:00 for the presentation of the book 'Mural de resistencia. Poesía por la igualdad y el desagravio' by the author Ángeles Fernangómez.
The work was created in response to the attack on the feminist mural in the La Concepción neighbourhood, in Ciudad Lineal (Madrid), which was covered in black on March 8, 2021, International Women’s Day. The author transforms that act into a space of memory, tribute, and resistance through poetry.
Alongside the author, the event will feature Rafael García Gutiérrez, mayor of Gargantilla del Lozoya and Pinilla de Buitrago; Vanessa Panelli McDowall, a cultural animator, and Miguel Ángel Hernández from QuerER Editorial.
An afternoon to approach poetry as a tool for memory, equality, and resistance," according to the organisers.
The event will take place in Plaza del Campillo in Gargantilla del Lozoya on Friday, September 25 at 19:00.
