The Móstoles City Council has scheduled a weekend of festivities with music, circus, and outdoor cinema. On Saturday, 'El gran guateque' will bring the hits of the 60s and 70s to the Plaza de la Cultura.
The cultural agenda of Móstoles for this weekend combines musical nostalgia, circus, and family cinema. The Department of Education and Culture has prepared a programme that kicks off this Friday and runs until Sunday at various locations throughout the municipality.
The opening act will be the artist Mr. Vita with his show "Spanish Gentelman Juggler", a mix of circus and juggling that arrives this Friday, August 14, at the Plaza del Sol (PAU-4) at 21:30 hours. His staging, featuring a character straight out of a comic book, promises high-level circus techniques for all audiences.
On Saturday the 15th, the Plaza de la Cultura will host "El gran guateque", by Luis Muñoz, at 21:30 hours, a show for dancing and singing along to the greatest hits of the 60s and 70s. The event invites attendees to reminisce about the most well-known songs from that era in a festive atmosphere.
That same Saturday, the Summer Cinema cycle will conclude with "A Minecraft Movie", inspired by the famous video game. The screening will take place at 22:00 hours in the park in front of the souk of Parque Coimbra, at the corner of Castaño Street and Eucalipto Street.
On Sunday the 16th, the programme continues at 11:00 hours with "Tell Me a Story", a puppet show by the company Los Gorriones at the Puppet Theatre of Finca Liana. The story, featuring the elf Chiribita, invites children to participate by inventing characters and solving riddles to help the Eurasian Eagle-Owl.
To close the weekend, Verbena presents "A Journey to the Past" on Sunday at 21:30 hours in the Plaza de la Cultura. Raúl Santana and María Barrios, along with the Ballet of Lola García, will offer a musical journey through well-known themes.
All activities are free and organised by the Móstoles City Council through the Department of Education and Culture. Residents can check the complete programme on the municipal website.
