The Federico García Lorca Cultural Centre in Rivas-Vaciamadrid hosts a new session of the acting workshop 'The Acting Game' on Friday 25th September, from 19:00 to 21:30, directed by actor, director, and theatre teacher Juan Expósito. The activity takes place in the Marcos Ana hall and is organised by the Amateur Theatre Platform of Rivas (Platear).
The session is open to anyone who wishes to participate and does not require prior registration. The workshop focuses on the pleasure and enjoyment of being on stage, particularly from a comedic perspective, although Platear explains that the acting game is a fundamental concept for any interpretative code: comedy, drama, realism, or classic.
The aim is to acquire the concept of play in acting. This is closely related to the ability to improvise, a fundamental aspect for an actor or actress to become creators and not just a tool between the text and the audience.
The session's programme includes presentation, warming up, and initiation of disinhibition, group games, individual and collective body work, group improvisation, and a scene proposal following prior guidelines as a final showcase.
Juan Expósito has nearly 25 years of experience as a theatre teacher and director of theatre groups. He has also worked as a coach for actors and creative writing teachers, directing, and storytelling, in addition to developing his career in theatre, film, and television.
His productions include the plays 'Of Imaginary Friends' and 'In the Trench', for which he won the best actor award at the Hortaleza Festival. In film, he has directed the short films 'Radiocasete', nominated for best Extremaduran short at the Mérida Festival, and 'A Year', which continues its journey through festivals.
The session takes place on Friday, 25th September from 19:00 to 21:30 in the Marcos Ana hall of the Federico García Lorca cultural centre in Rivas-Vaciamadrid. Entry is free until full capacity is reached and no registration is necessary.
