Young Valeria Díez Montávez and her teacher Ángel Rubio present the book 'Valeria is written with V' on Wednesday 23rd September at the Gloria Fuertes library in Rivas-Vaciamadrid, with proceeds going to medical research.

The Gloria Fuertes library in Rivas-Vaciamadrid will host the presentation of the book 'Valeria is written with V' on Wednesday 23rd September at 18:00, a charitable tale written by young Valeria Díez Montávez and her teacher Ángel Rubio Merino. The work, published by Diversidad Literaria, narrates from a child’s optimistic perspective what it is like to live with a rare disease.

Valeria, who has just turned twelve, recounts in this biographical text the most important events of her life and talks about her likes, hobbies, family, and what she would like to be when she grows up. In 2023, she received the Professor Julio Pérez Educational Commitment Award in the category for infant and primary school students.

All proceeds from the sale of the book will go to medical research. The event is free to enter until capacity is reached.

What truly stands out about Valeria, and makes her special, is her strength and courage to face the illness she was diagnosed with at a very young age," describes Ángel Rubio.
When you read the book, it is impossible not to be moved. It is a story filled with pure sincerity, naturalness, and optimism. Ultimately, it is a lesson in life. It teaches us to put trivial problems into perspective and to face difficulties in such a special way," adds the teacher.

Ángel Rubio Merino (1974) has worked as a teacher in public schools for 25 years, most of them in Rivas-Vaciamadrid. He balances his profession with hobbies such as travelling and sports: he runs marathons.

The presentation will take place at the Gloria Fuertes library on Wednesday 23rd September at 18:00.
