The XXXIII edition of the Aranjuez Early Music Festival will take place from October 2 to November 8, featuring national premieres and international figures like Richard Egarr.

The Aranjuez Early Music Festival will celebrate its XXXIII edition from October 2 to November 8 in various heritage spaces of the Royal Site and Town of Aranjuez. The event, organized by the City Council of Aranjuez and the Community of Madrid, is supported by the Ministry of Culture, National Heritage, the Spanish Railways Foundation, Aranjuez Crea Cultura, and Comercio Centro.

This year's programme includes two national premieres. On one hand, the revival of Trisonata by the English composer and musicologist Charles Burney, to mark the 300th anniversary of his birth. On the other, the festival joins the bicentenary celebration of Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga, a key figure in 19th-century Spanish music.

Among the invited performers are Richard Egarr, director of the Academy of Ancient Music in London from 2006 to 2021, who will conduct the Spanish group Hippocampus in a programme dedicated to the Concerti Grossi of Corelli and Handel. Also participating will be Lina Tur Bonet, Fahmi Alqhai, La Ritirata, the Baroque Orchestra of Seville, and Mariví Blasco, among others.

In addition to the concerts, the festival continues its programme of parallel activities to deepen the relationship between music and the heritage of Aranjuez, with the Royal Palace and historical gardens as the backdrop.

The City Council of Aranjuez highlights that this cultural event continues to grow linked to the city's heritage and helps to project its name as a cultural destination.

Tickets are already on sale on the official festival website: musicaantiguaaranjuez.com/programa.
