Thousands of people accompanied the Grand Parade of Floats and the fireworks that marked the end of the Alcalá de Henares 2026 Fair on Sunday.
Thousands of Alcalá residents bid farewell this Sunday to the Alcalá de Henares 2026 Fairs and Festivals with the Grand Parade of Floats and a fireworks display from the Huerta del Obispo.
The procession was made up of 8 floats with child and youth themes, 5 groups from the municipal competition: the clubs El Juglar, Los Jardineros, Los Pichis, Los Reincidentes, and the Cultural Association of Majorettes Rhythm and Baton. The Giants and Bigheads group, the Pequeñantes, and a parade from the cultural association La Burleta, which arrived from Campo de Criptana with dozens of dancers and three mobile elements, also participated.
During the route, 6,000 kilos of gluten-free soft sweets were distributed by the clubs accompanying the parade.
The itinerary ran along Vía Complutense from Luis de Madrona to Glorieta de San Jerónimo de Sola, continued along calle Sebastián de la Plaza, Puerta de Mártires, and Libreros, and concluded at Plaza Cervantes. There, the mayor Judith Piquet, the councillor for Festivals and Popular Traditions, Antonio Saldaña, and other members of the municipal Corporation awaited.
At the end of the parade, the banner of the clubs was removed from the balcony of the Town Hall, and the ‘Pobre de mí’ was sung.
The closing was handled by the fireworks company Vulcano, which designed a show of over 13 minutes of light and sound in the city sky from the Huerta del Obispo.
