The international artistic competition Frida Kahlo, now in its 29th edition, has announced its winners. It awards a total of €5,150 in prizes.

The jury of the Frida Kahlo competition met on September 8 and has revealed the winning works of its 29th edition. The international contest distributes a total of €5,150 in prizes.

In the storytelling category, the main prize of €1,600 has been awarded to Leyre Arrue Usoz from San Sebastián for her work ‘Para ti el camello’. The runner-up prize of €600 went to Manuel Crespo from Buenos Aires for ‘Fiebre sola’.

In painting, the first prize of €2,150 has been won by Aitor Irimia from Rivas-Vaciamadrid for ‘Ryu’. The runner-up prize of €800 went to Carlos González Iradier from Madrid for ‘Sfilata degli Intransigenti’.

The awards ceremony will take place on Friday, October 2 at 18:30 at the García Lorca Cultural Centre in Rivas-Vaciamadrid. On the same day, an exhibition featuring the paintings will open to the public, which can be visited until October 21.
