The Sierra de Madrid Youth Orchestra creates a choir open to residents of the Sierra de Guadarrama from the age of 14. Registrations can be made from 5 to 28 September 2026.
The Sierra de Madrid Youth Orchestra (JOsM) has announced the creation of its own choir, a project designed to bring together singing enthusiasts from the municipalities of the Sierra de Guadarrama. The initiative is open to individuals from 14 years old, with no age limit, whether they have prior experience or just want to try.
The choir will be directed by pianist, singer, and choral conductor Alicia Achaques and will be part of the orchestra's major productions. In addition to weekly rehearsals, participants will have access to masterclasses, musical meetings, and social activities, with the aim of preparing repertoires and sharing the stage with the instrumental ensemble.
Registrations will be made via online form between 5 and 28 September 2026. Rehearsals will take place every Friday from 20:00 to 22:00 hours, with a monthly fee of 25 euros. A welcome meeting is scheduled for 2 October, the location of which will be announced soon.
The project kicks off with an eye on the 2026-2027 Christmas season, when the choir's voices will begin to prepare to perform alongside the Sierra de Madrid Youth Orchestra. For more information or inquiries, interested parties can write to info@orquestajosm.com.
