The Torrejón de Ardoz City Council announces the IX National Painting Competition 'Ciudad de Torrejón de Ardoz'. The deadline for registration ends on September 2 and the prize amounts to €3,000.

The Torrejón de Ardoz City Council has opened the call for the IX National Painting Competition 'Ciudad de Torrejón de Ardoz', aimed at artists over 18 years old, both Spanish and foreign residents in Spain. Works may only be submitted by their own authors, with free technique, style, and theme.

The registration period will remain open until September 2 and registration will be done electronically through the website www.mundoarti.com, where participants must complete the required fields. The complete rules are available at www.torrejoncultural.es.

The competition aims to promote and support local artists. The jury, chaired by the Councillor for Culture or a delegated representative, and composed of professionals of recognized prestige, will evaluate the composition, artistic quality, painting technique, creativity, innovation, and originality of the works.

A €3,000 prize will be awarded for the best creation and two runner-up prizes of €500 for the best works by local artists. The jury's decision and the award ceremony will take place on Friday October 17 at 20:00 hours.

The selected works will be exhibited in the Municipal Exhibition Hall of the Casa de Cultura on London Street from October 17 to November 8. Once the physical exhibition has concluded, the exhibition will be available for virtual viewing through the municipal website.
