Alpedrete's Social Services and the THAM Community are organising three free workshops in September and October 2026 for families with children. The sessions will be online, from 17:30 to 19:00, and require prior registration.

Families in Alpedrete have a new opportunity to engage with the digital and emotional education of their children. The City Council's Social Services and the THAM Community have scheduled three free workshops as part of the Families Space, which will take place online between September and October 2026 from 17:30 to 19:00.

The first session will be on Monday 28 September titled “Growing among algorithms: educating in the era of AI”. General health psychologist Maribel Gámez Cruz, an expert in artificial intelligence and mental health and coordinator of the Psychology and AI Working Group at the Madrid College of Psychology, will provide guidelines to understand the impact of AI on childhood and adolescence, detect signs of inappropriate use, and promote responsible use at home. It is recommended for families with children of any age.

On Tuesday 6 and Tuesday 13 October, the workshop “ADHD, tools to manage it successfully from understanding it and not dying in the attempt” will take place. General health psychologist Ana Navarro Lalanda, from Neurobe: Neuropsychology and relational psychotherapy and a professor at the European University of Valencia, will explain the structural and functional brain alterations that explain behaviour, the triad of symptoms, and difficulties in executive functions and working memory. Concrete tools for home and classroom will also be practised. Aimed at families with children of any age.

The cycle will conclude on Monday 19 October with “How to prepare for adolescence: instructions for real life”, led by Sélica Juberias, a psychologist with a master's in General Health Psychology and a psychotherapist at Cotera Education and Health. The session will address how preadolescents and adolescents explore their relationships with peers and provide cognitive and emotional strategies for adults to support this stage. Recommended for families with children aged 10 and above.

To participate in any of the sessions, prior registration is necessary by sending an email to thamfamilia@mancomunidad-tham.org with the name, email address, municipality, and chosen workshop or workshops, or by filling out the form available at https://forms.gle/kdoegpYdQs12c7zB7.

The complete programme can be consulted in the PDF published on the Alpedrete City Council's website. The sessions are free and conducted online.
