The City Council of Aranjuez and the Community of Madrid allocate 440,000 euros to works and services in the Real Cortijo de San Isidro. The modification of the Cooperation Plan allows this smaller local entity to receive 150,000 euros in regional aid for the first time.

The Real Cortijo de San Isidro will receive investments amounting to approximately 440,000 euros from the Community of Madrid and the City Council of Aranjuez. This was discussed on Tuesday by the mayor of Aranjuez, Miguel Gómez Herrero, and the local mayor of the Real Cortijo de San Isidro, Antonio Morollón, in a working meeting that also included the delegate for Relations with the Cortijo, Mercedes Rico, and the delegate for Works and Services, María Belmonte.

The main novelty is the arrival of 150,000 euros from the Community of Madrid. This funding is made possible by the modification of the Plan for Cooperation in Municipal Works and Services, approved by the Governing Council on 8 April and published in the Official Bulletin of the Community of Madrid on 18 May 2026. The regulation expands the beneficiaries of these aids to include smaller local entities, allowing the Real Cortijo to access resources that were previously reserved for municipalities.

The City Council of Aranjuez has allocated 84,000 euros for the renewal of street lighting in several streets of the Real Cortijo, a project that has already been executed. This amount will be supplemented by 200,000 euros for asphalt work in 2027, as committed by the City Council during the meeting.

Additionally, the City Council is working on other improvements to public space: renewal and installation of benches and bins, repair of drains and sewers, fixing of sunken manholes, repair of sidewalks, replacement of signage, and installation of bollards.

The mayor of Aranjuez has stated that these actions respond to the commitment to address the needs of the Real Cortijo, which is part of the municipal area. The modification of the regional plan is also a result of coordination between the City Council of Aranjuez, the City Council of the Cortijo de San Isidro, and the Community of Madrid, with prior meetings such as the one held last year between the Deputy Minister of Presidency and Local Administration, José Antonio Sánchez, and the riverside mayor.

The planned asphalt works for 2027 will be carried out throughout that year, while the urban furniture, sidewalks, and drainage works are already underway.
