The ERRP programme, funded by European funds, will mobilise €20.7 million in private investment in the Historic Centre. The deadline for executing the works has been extended to 2028.
The City Council of Aranjuez has managed to date aid amounting to €8,374,290.05 for the rehabilitation of 353 homes and 71 commercial premises under the Neighbourhood Rehabilitation Aid Programme (ERRP). This investment, financed with Next Generation European funds, will mobilise a private investment of €20,760,895.46 in the Historic Centre of the town.
The programme, which started with the signing of the agreement in November 2022 between the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda, the Community of Madrid, and the City Council, has recently extended its execution deadline to 2028 so that owners and homeowners' associations have more time to carry out the subsidised works.
The actions allow for improvements in thermal insulation, renewal of installations, reduction of energy consumption, and increased accessibility of buildings, according to the council. It also promotes the economic activity of local companies linked to rehabilitation.
The Councillor for Urbanism and Housing, Ignacio Díaz, has highlighted that "this programme constitutes one of the largest residential rehabilitation projects developed in Aranjuez. We are not only helping hundreds of families improve their homes with European funding, but the significant volume of investment that will be executed will also promote new public space improvement actions, funded through this programme, from which the entire city will benefit."
The extension of the deadline to 2028 is excellent news, as it will allow homes and premises to carry out their works with greater peace of mind," Díaz added.
In addition to residential rehabilitation, the programme includes urban regeneration projects, such as the conditioning of the pavements in Plaza de San Antonio and the improvement of Calle de San Antonio up to Palacio de Silvela, as well as the creation of a water park in Plaza de Abastos.
From the City Council, they remind that the ERRP Management Office is still available to residents to process applications and resolve questions about the process. Homeowners' associations interested can still apply for aid within the new extended deadline.
