From September 13 to 20, Los Molinos celebrates its festivities in honour of the Most Holy Christ of Good Death with an extensive programme of religious events, street parties, bull runs, and two novice bullfights.
The Town Hall of Los Molinos has presented the official programme for its Patron Saint Festivities in honour of the Most Holy Christ of Good Death, which will take place from September 13 to 20, 2026. The mayor, Antonio Coello Gómez-Rey, described these days as “the moment to reconnect with family, friends, and neighbours; to return to our streets and welcome those who visit us.”
The preliminary events will kick off on Saturday, September 12, with the XXII Popular Ascent to La Peñota, a chito throwing competition, clay pigeon shooting, and a meal for the elderly. The official inauguration will be on Sunday, September 13, with the traditional transhumance and horse bull run from La Dehesa at 11:30 AM.
The Festivities Opening Speech will take place at 9:00 PM in the Plaza de España and will be delivered by the Centro Residencial Santa Rosa de Lima, in recognition of its 20th anniversary since its re-establishment and over 50 years in the municipality. The day will end with a performance by the group The Millers.
On Monday, the 14th, the feast day of the Most Holy Christ of Good Death, there will be a tribute to the deceased in the Parque Cruce de Candales at 10:00 AM, followed by a Solemn Mass and Procession at 12:00 PM. In the afternoon, there will be a children's paella, circus workshops, and evening street parties.
Local associations will have their featured days: on Tuesday the 15th (Children's Day), there will be a chiky bull run, a hamburger feast, puppets, and dancing with the Syra Orchestra; on Wednesday the 16th (Association of Young Men Day), the first bull run and a free practical bullfighting class, with the Cayenna Orchestra; on Thursday the 17th (Married Couples Association Day), a traditional bull run, practical class, and street party with the Cinema Orchestra; and on Friday the 18th (Young Women and Married Women Day), a children's bull run, a novice bullfight without picadors from the “Camino hacia Las Ventas” contest, the huevada of the Peña Los Sopis, and the Nuevo Tango Orchestra.
On Saturday the 19th, there will be a grand novice bullfight with picadors featuring cattle from Cebada Gago for the novice bullfighters Mario Arruza, López Ortega, and Iván Rejas. At midnight, the Bullring will host a fireworks display, accompanied by the Tango Orchestra in the Plaza de España.
The festivities will conclude on Sunday the 20th with another bull run, the novice bullfight from the Chamaco ranch (Gonzalo Capdevila, Daniel Moset, and David Gutiérrez) at 6:00 PM, and the Final Firecracker at 9:00 PM in the Bullring.
Throughout the week, Calle Real (between Plaza 12 de Octubre and Coworking), Plaza de Juan Rubio, Calle Molino de la Mónica, Calle Dalias, and Calle Vistillas will remain closed to traffic, with loading and unloading reserved from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM. The Town Hall prohibits the consumption of drinks in glass containers in public spaces and access with glass to the Plaza de España. To participate in the bull runs, one must be at least 16 years old and must not have consumed alcohol or drugs; it is also prohibited to provoke or cut the cattle and to climb onto the barriers.
